rhode island photographers visit Lavender Waves Farm in Rhode Island
BY MASSART PHOTOGRAPHY, A FAMILY, NEWBORN AND WEDDING PORTRAIT STUDIO SERVICING RI, CT AND MA
When our sweet friend Katie of Katie Lovaas Photography told us about a Lavender farm opening up in Wakefield, we don’t think she realized what she was doing to our souls! Something about lavender plants is so incredibly whimsical to me that I would put them right up there with Cherry Blossom trees when it comes to photography session locations in Rhode Island! We shot at a lavender farm for the first time last summer (Lavender Pond Farm in CT, check it out it’s beautiful!) and we were hooked so to have one local is a dream come true. We are ALWAYS working on finding new and fresh backgrounds for our clients but I have a feeling that this one will be a timeless staple that we will keep in our repertoire year after year. Here is our brief summary of our visit at the beautiful Lavender Waves Farm!
We had the great pleasure of going to visit the farm this winter and left even more impressed. Alpacas, fluffy chickens, and POM POM topiaries?!? Oh my! Not to mention that horse who greets you upon arrival! Ok, she isn’t a horse but close, she is a Great Dane and her name is, wait for it….Minnie ?
It doesn’t even end here, on the property is a BRAND NEW guest suite that’s available on air bnb
Every inch of this suite was built with the finest most luxurious material and just the slightest and tasteful hints of purple to tie everything in!
The crazy part? You would think that this was the work of designers and lifelong farmers but no, Henry owns and runs it (he is super grateful for the help he receives from his family and girlfriend) and is a full-time Doctor. Crazy right? Our boys loved riding around the cart with him while Seth and Minnie were frolicking around ?
The details:
No, we do not get a commission for any bookings but we were truly so impressed by this spectacular and unique place that we wanted to help get the word out so here it is…
-Photographers can rent out the farm for their clients’ portrait sessions. This is a private farm so there’s no need to fight the crowds and it’s available at golden hour!
