One Year Milestone Photo Shoot by Massart Photography

Meet Leah! She is the sweetest little thing with an infectious smile. She came to our studio for her one year milestone session, and when she arrived, she was a bit nervous. The new people and new surroundings made her very quiet, and though she sat and looked at the camera for us, she wasn’t her usual perky self. We asked Mom what we could do to help her settle in and make her more comfortable…
Cue the Cambodian music! And oh my goodness did that make all the difference! Leah perked right up and started clapping and dancing! Her session was a breeze and so much fun with the music playing the entire time!
Oh and these adorable little anklets are a Cambodian tradition! In case you haven’t heard the story about these anklets, they were traditionally worn by babies and small children in Cambodian villages. Often the villages were located on the sides of mountains and mothers used the bells on the anklets to know where their crawling or toddling babies were at all times. These tinkling anklets were their little safety devices! They were often thought to ward off evil spirits as well. At least, this is the tradition we read about on Google lol! Leah’s mommy and daddy told us that they came from grandparents so perhaps, it all ties in together? Either way, they are so freaking cute!
We had so much fun with Leah and her family during this photo shoot and we are so happy to have been able to share this special time with them and learn a bit about their family traditions.
Happy 1st Birthday Leah!
